My idea was a historically inspired (but also pretty inaccurate) map featuring Crimea, parts of the Ukrainian steppe, the northern Caucasus, and some area up the Volga, with the Greeks in their Black Sea colonies, and various Amazon factions based loosely on historical Scythian and Sarmatian tribes. To get to the point: I'd like to try out modding too and help you with the map.

Historians seem to think that many stories about Amazons were at least in part based on Greek encounters with Scythians and Sarmatians, since there are a lot of Scythian graves of women entombed with weapons and horses and the men being out raiding and campaigning meant that their women had to defend their homes by themselves for large periods of time. There basically seem to be two main strands of narration:Īmazons in Anatolia (with main settlement areas in Themiscyra in the north and Lycia in the south and many cities on the West coast being allegedly founded by Amazons), and Amazons to the north of the Black Sea (up to the northern Caucasus some are also said to have fathered the Sarmatians through a union with local Scythians). I got curious and spent some time on Wikipedia and elsewhere reading about the original Greek myths about Amazons. Last time you said you were going for a setting with warring Amazon factions, and one Greek faction invading those lands and also that you wanted to make a custom map eventually. Still want to know more about the child system.Īt this point Bannerlord should really be feature complete with everything else being polish. Which is likely what actually happened multiple times in Bannerlord.īecause of this it is a bit concerning that we don't have something as basic as a full feature list along with a rough summary of how all the new mechanics function. Without that you can easily have a team doing negative work due to having to revert changes after implementation. I think the bigger problem may have been having a clear design document long before there is actual work done in implementation. Something that Bannerlord may have desperately needed. A Scrum Board in particular is designed specifically to communicate task allocation and to force the team to set clear project goals along with finite time estimates. I hate design by committee as well but I find that tends to be an issue of focus groups and design by CEO rather than an issue of basic team communication.
